What training does the midwife have?
The midwife completed more than four years of training at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR) and is also certified in obstetric emergencies and advanced neonatal resuscitation.

Is the midwife a member of a professional order?
Yes. The midwife must be a member of the Order of Midwives of Quebec/ Ordre des sages-femmes du Québec (OSFQ) to practice their profession.
What are the costs associated with the different services?
The services of a midwife do not incur costs for holders of the Quebec health insurance card.
If I am followed at the birth center, do I also have to be followed by a doctor?
It is not necessary to have medical follow-up with a doctor. The midwife offers all the care necessary for complete monitoring of the pregnancy. It is important to have only one medical follow-up.
If I want to give birth in the hospital, can I be followed at the birth center?
Yes. The midwife accompanies you to the place you have chosen for the birth of your newborn. During your follow-up, she discusses the different options with you as well as the particularities related to each.
