Our CIUSSS

The Integrated University Health and Social Services Center (CIUSSS) of Saguenay−Lac-Saint-Jean has for mission to ensure the health and well-being of the region’s population through the delivery of services adapted to our users’ needs and accessible in each community. By virtue of its university mission, CIUSSS contributes to the development of knowledge and practices, as well as to the transfer and dissemination of knowledge.

The CIUSSS du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean consists of 62 facilities spread over a territory of 95 762 km2. The establishment meets the health and social services needs of more than 278,800 citizens.

The CIUSSS of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, created on April 1, 2015, is the result of the merger of the following nine public health and social services institutions:

  • Centre de santé et de services sociaux Cléophas-Claveau
  • Centre de santé et de services sociaux de Chicoutimi
  • Centre de santé et de services sociaux de Jonquière
  • Centre de santé et de services sociaux de Lac-Saint-Jean-Est
  • Centre de santé et de services sociaux Domaine-du-Roy
  • Centre de santé et de services sociaux Maria-Chapdelaine
  • Centre jeunesse du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean
  • Centre de réadaptation en déficience intellectuelle et en troubles envahissants du développement du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean
  • Agence de la santé et des services sociaux du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean

With an operating budget of more than 815 million dollars, the CIUSSS of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean has over 10,500 employees and comprises 62 facilities.
