Step 1

If you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms, please complete the COVID-19 Symptom Self-Assessment Tool in order to be directed to the right resource.

Step 2

Take your screening test

Worth Noting:

If you have a health or hospital card, bring it.

If you do not have a health insurance card, you can still be tested.

Step 3

While waiting for your results:

  • If you are in contact with a positive case and the screening test has been recommended by the Department of Public Health, remain in isolation and wait for instruction.
  • If you have symptoms, isolate yourself at home.
    • If you are an employee or a physician of the CIUSSS du Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean, contact the «Guichet unique» one stop access point at 1 833 814-7459.
  • If you do not have symptoms, continue with your activities.

Step 4

Your results will be communicated to you:

  • By phone *, if it is positive.
  • By email or phone *, if it is negative.

* Your telephone display will indicate “Unknown” or “Public health”. For reasons of confidentiality, we will not leave a voice message. We therefore ask you to contact us.

If you have been waiting for your test result for more than 5 days, call : 1 833 704-0533 from 8 a.m. to 20 p.m.

Designated Assessment Clinic – By appointment

What is a Designated Assessment Clinic?

Designated Assessment Clinics are designed to support hospitals, family medicine clinics and public health teams.

For who?

  • Anyone, whether registered or not with a family doctor, who would like a front-line medical consultation;
  • AND who has flu-like, gastroenteritis, or COVID-19-like symptoms.

How to access it?

Call 1 877 644-4545.

A clinical evaluation will be done by a nurse.

Designated assessment clinics in the region are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are accessible by appointment only.
